The Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, Dainius Puras, will pay an official visit to Croatia from 28 November to 6 December 2016.
He plans to hold meetings and visit healthcare centres in Zagreb and he additionally considers visiting Osijek, Rijeka and Split, to assess some of the themes in-focus for this visit, including i) Financing of national healthcare, ii) Access to primary healthcare, iii) Mental health, iv) Sexual and reproductive health rights, and v) Groups in situations of vulnerability, including people on the move, children, persons with disabilities and older persons.
In this context, we invite all partners and stakeholders to send information on the current status of the realization of the right to health in Croatia (see attached background note for issues of interest to the visit), including but not limited to the following:
– Information and data on selected issues of interest for the visit;
– Suggestions on authorities and institutions to be consulted;
– Key partners and stakeholders, including NGOs and professional associations, to meet, notably in Osijek and Split;
– Any other relevant information.
The SR’s office will be very grateful to receive the contributions of civil society preferably ahead of the mission, but also during or after the mission, but no later than 16 December 2016.
