The General Assembly’s Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals has agreed on a proposal for SDGs. Read the proposal here. The 13th and last session of the OWG was held on July 14-18 but in practice ended late Saturday. The first phase of a 2-year policy process at the United Nations, in which member states proposed a new set of global goals for sustainable development has now officially ended. The new set of goals will replace the Millenium Development Goals and will determine the new development routes and funding commitments.

ASTRA’s representative from Georgia was part of the SRHR activists group working together with the Women’s Major Group. The civil society response to the proposed Sustainable Development Goals is yet to come.
