In May the Government of Macedonia has proposed to the Parliament to vote for a new abortion law. The new law is said to include a few articles which will restrict access to abortion. As a response, H.E.R.A. (ASTRA Member from Macedonia) wrote a letter against Draft Abortion Bill, which was widely circulated and collected signatures of support from 90 organizations worldwide. In this form the letter was sent on June 6th to the Prime Minister and the Member of Parliamentarians to call upon this harmful draft abortion law and to ensure wider consultative and transparent process in its creation.
The authors of the letter express their deep gratitude for all the international support and hope that this inhuman legislation doesn’t pass through the Parliament.
