The Global Youth Forum ended with adoption of Bali Declaration. The Declaration, an official UN document, includes – for the first time ever – positive recommendations pertaining to safe, legal and accessible abortion for youth without judgment; non-discrimination and protection for LGBTQI youth; rights of young sex workers; sexual rights; and loads more. The Forum highlighted five pillars of youth-related issues including health, education, employment, youth rights and well-being, and civic participation and is part of an UN-mandated review of progress on the goals set out in the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development Programme of Action. The ICPD Global Youth Forum has produced a set of recommendations which outline the vision of young people around the world for their future. The text of Bali Declaration is available here.
