ASTRA sent a letter to the Marshal of the Polish Sejm (lower chamber of Polish Parliament), Mrs. Ewa Kopacz to express its concern about the anti-choice civic bill proposed by the „Stop Abortion” initiative which aims to restrict abortions on the grounds of fetal malformations.

The initiative would, if passed, seriously jeapardize women’s health, rights, and autonomy. Poland has already faced considerable international criticism for its restrictive abortion law and practice. If it were to restrict the grounds for abortion further, Poland would stand out even more in Europe and its abortion law would be the subject of even harsher international condemnation.
